GEOTHERMAL AND PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS FOR A ‘GREEN’ WINERY
Learn more on how an ecological winery has chosen to “cultivate” clean energy in its geothermal probe field, just as it does with valuable vines.
THE CLIENT
All technologies and materials involved in the project are characterized by high standards of sustainability. This approach provides a remarkable added value to the final product of the winery as well, making it even more appreciated by a clientele that is turning increasingly sensitive to ecological matters.
The new facility is powered by renewable sources, being equipped with a photovoltaic system and a low-enthalpy geothermal system for heating and cooling (free and active cooling), designed and installed by Geonovis.
The installation of the geothermal system with vertical probes went side by side with the construction of the winery structure itself.
During the first structural phases of the building, our team performed geological verifications and, consequently, the sizing of the system has been defined.
Then the drilling began, followed by the laying of geothermal probes (with verified performance through Geogert system) as well as the realization of horizontal connections between the probe field and the collector, and the collector and the technical room.
The power station has been designed so that every component can be visible to the public, including the manifolds connecting to the probe field. The room is in fact part the winery tour offered to customers.
The newly built structure, with its 3.712 sqm surface, is provided with complete winter heating and summer cooling without the consumption of any fossil fuels, using fan coils and radiant floor as terminals.
